I know that it has been since Jan that I've posted anything. We had lost our source of internet and that is the reason why I haven't posted lately. I figured that until I have a steady internet connection I cannot do my picture a day thing like I was wanting to do. Lots has happened since my last post. We had Tinley on Feb 12, 2012. She is beautiful and so much fun! I love having here finally here.

Day 8 Jan. 8th Brooklyn's Birthday Party!!

Saturday, January 7, 2012

Saturday is a special day!!

Today was filled with a whole lot of relaxing. I haven't had much energy lately but we all know why that is. ;) I'm proud that I got a few things organized in Tinley's room though. I feel much better about that now. Spencer and I went out for a little bit just before sun down to take some pictures and just get out of the house. We later made our way over to his parents house to play games with them. We ended up playing Texas Hold'em for a few hours. That was pretty much our day today... Exciting huh! :)

Boys meeting

Today was uneventful but a much needed uneventful day! :D We went to the post office today to send off some books that sold on Amazon and ended up standing in line for 45 minutes! HOLY COW! As we pulled up we joked that it was a "Christmas miracle" that there were no cars there and that we might be in and out of there. Grr we shouldn't have joked about that!! :D

On our way home we drove past some of the local lakes here in LaPorte and found these guys chilling on the ice having a boys meeting.

Dr.s Appt

Today we had an appointment just to check to see how Tinley is doing. The Dr. that we have is such a great Dr. and he is easy to talk to. Usually our visit's are short but I guess that's a good thing. We got to listen to her heart beat again today and of course it makes us giddy every time we get to hear it. Man we can't believe that we are only 40 days away from having Tinley join us here on earth. How lucky we are to have this opportunity. I have so much enjoyed these past few years with it being just Spencer and I. I will miss it for sure but am so excited to add a little one into the picture.

Day5/Jan5th Heavenly Father has blessed us with such beautiful sights to see. I'm grateful for Spencer and how much he has opened my eyes to enjoying these amazing sights H.F. has given us.

Bald Eagle

Today was a lazy day here in the Jablonski home. We stayed up way too late playing canasta which led us to sleeping in pretty late. I pretty much spent most of the morning on Pinterest which I'm overly addicted to. There are so many amazing and cool ideas on that web site. Today we decided to go on another bird watch. You might think we are addicted and well so what if we are but we have got to get in as much bird watching as we can before Spencer has to go back to school and before Tinley comes. Today we saw 2 Bald eagles out at Kankakee which is a fish and wildlife area. It's only about 15-20mins from our house. How cool is that. We got a picture of one of the Bald Eagles. Its kind of blurry but you totally can tell that it's a Bald Eagle. Also we saw 48.... that's right 48 Tundra Swans and 2 Pileated Woodpeckers. We are going over to have dinner at his parents house tonight since his sister Meagan is in town for our niece Brooklyn's birthday. Then we have to head out to the church for youth group but you better believe that we are going back to his parents to have a wicked game night with his family.

Here is our blurry picture of the Bald Eagle

All day bird watching

So today was an eventful day for us. We woke up around 8:30am and had breakfast. Then we were out the door by 9:30am and on our way to the Michigan City Harbor area to find our snowy owl. On our way there we drove past a house that we saw catch on fire yesterday and there was no longer a house standing there, just a pile of charred rubble. It was really sad to see that the whole house was gone. Hoping that the family that lived there is okay. So moving on to a brighter subject, we finally arrived to the Harbor and saw 5 Red-Breasted Mergansers, 1 Horned Grebe and 3 Common Goldeneyes but no luck with the Snowy Owl.(I'm just going to name the new ones that we haven't seen before in/around the different areas.) We then ventured out of the harbor and down the road a bit to the Calumet Trail and there we found 5 Red-Tailed Hawks and 1 Red-Shouldered Hawk perched along the road. Man were we on a roll today!!!! Now it was off to the Portage Marina and you wouldn't believe what new birds we saw there. We saw 6 Common Mergansers and 1 Belted King Fisher. We then made our way over to the Portage Fishing Pier and saw a very rare Purple Sandpiper! HOLY COW was that cool! There were some fellow bird lovers :D there with some really nice equipment so we were able to see the Purple Sandpiper up close. Spencer had heard that there was a Snowy Owl sighting not to far away at the Gary Works/DNR Fishing Pier Area, so we made our way over there and found the same guy that had the really nice scope. He beat us to the spot with high hopes just like us of seeing something cool! We got out of the car and he looked over at us and said, "are you guys still looking for that snowy owl, because I have him sighted into my scope here?". HOLY POOP!! Is he serious?!?! Yep, and there he was perched on the break wall out on Lake Michigan. What a amazing bird! Unfortunately, we didn't have a camera nice enough to get a good photo but the one photo we got you can tell he is there. There is this white blob on the top of the brown area in the rock wall.(It's really hard to see!) That's all the proof that Spencer and I need. Also at that same spot we saw 80 Greater Scaup, 40 Lesser Scaup, 1 Double Creasted Cormorant and 1 Red-Throated Loon. That pretty much completed our day of bird watching. We were on a pretty big high with all the different types of birds that we were able to see. Spencer and I then made our way home and when we got there you better believe that a nap was the next thing on our agenda. :D Today was a really fun day for us just being able to be together and have fun outdoors. Here are a few pictures of the amazing birds that we saw today. (Thanks to the great photographers who captured these pictures other than ours) Enjoy! (Also my picture for Jan 3rd will be here too)

Snowy Owl adventure

Today we woke up pretty early and headed over to Jason's to go bird watching with his family. We ventured out into the blizzard to find the Snowy Owl at Lake Michigan. We spent about 2hrs looking for him but he was no where to be found. :(

This is a picture of the owl we were trying to find. Cool right!???!!!!

Spencer and I stopped to get some lunch on our way home at Arbys. We finally made it home after getting some 50% off Christmas candy at K-Mart. Once we got home we played a few rounds of Texas Hold'em. Spencer was beating me for most of the game but the last hand that I had I went all in with four of a kind 8's. I ended up winning the jack pot!! Boo YAH!! It's still snowing pretty hard outside. We are going to take our Christmas tree down today. Feels like we just put it up but oh well. I'm excited to get out the valentines day decor!

Here is the first picture of the year. It's blurry and not a good one because the cameras battery was flashing. But we spent most of the day yesterday playing this totally awesome game!! As my mother in law would say... It's going to get Canasty in here!! :D

This is just a glimpse of some of the snow we got today. It's again another terrible photo because it was taken through the screen on our window but I don't care. LOL :D

This was the final hand of Texas Hold'em!! Look at how awesome that is! Haha this makes me smile... sorry baby.. <3 Cutthroat Kelly! ;)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Happy New Year Everyone!!! Spencer and I rang in the new year by watching a movie. I know so exciting right!?!?! LOL Well Spencer and I both decided that we want to keep a blog... We have had one since we first got married but haven't been very good at it. So i guess that's one of our resolutions for 2012. Also another resolution that we are trying this year is taking a picture a day. I'm at my in laws right now so I wasn't able to post our first picture but will tomorrow. Spencer and I spent most of the day playing one of our favorite card games called Canasta. Its so addicting!! Also we went on a bird watch today and saw 17 different species of birds. Jason and Spencer are competing at how many different types of birds they can see this year. Rules are that it can only be recorded if you see it in Indiana. So we needed to get a head start. Well I can hear Spencer in the other room explaining to his parents the rules of canasta. So i better go! :D ( I told you we are addicted)
